Wording on posts
-
How do I delete or hide the “extra” wording that appears on a post? I am asking about the blog “NETTLE CREEK INTERIORS”. The extra words I’m referring to are on the “Custom Bedspreads” post on the Recent Posts widgit. The extra words that I’d like to eliminate or hide are as follows…
“Posted on December 19, 2011by nettlecreek”…and then…”This entry was posted in Uncategorized and tagged bedspreads. Bookmark the permalink.”
I want to use the Recent Posts widgit and the posts (each of which I will tag) as a way to improve web visibility…but the extra words seem to me to be confusing to the acerage visitor.
Thanks in advance

Hi there!
The Recent Posts Widget has a checkbox in it that can control whether it displays the date, however the additional verbiage which you are speaking about is part of the post itself.
That language is built in to the post and cannot be removed, except via the Custom Design upgrade wherein you can edit the CSS for your site. With this ability you can remove some built-in text.
If you decide that you would like to purchase the Custom Design upgrade and give that a try (it has a 30 day refund if you decide you don’t like it), you can consult our CSS Forums to find out the correct code to remove the text you don’t like. The CSS Forum can be found right here:

Thanks for the warp speed response.
As I mentioned I was trying to figure out if I could increase browser seach results via the use of Posts with Tags. If I create Posts with Tags but don’t make the Posts visible, will the search engine still find the Tags? Will this help or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks.

Hi there,
Yes, you will indeed need to have your posts be published and visible in order to search engines to be able to pick them up during their crawls. Not only because they have to be published in order for the search engines to see them, but also because the search engines have been programmed with algorithms to sort out sites which contain only keywords without any actual content.
So long story short, if you want to gain the benefits of having Google pick up that you have several dozen blog entries (or what have you), then you will need to actually create those blog entries and they will need to be displayed.
