Wording under avatar

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi, hoping I chose a different section this time for this question as I have NO idea whether its support or a question :(

    Now my problem is this: Why is it my name refuses to sit perfectly aligned under my Guy’s site – and it also refuses under Michael’s site – but it does perfectly under my own personal site – that is the Quentin theme. I know I can use a gravatar image or image widget, but i would LOVE to know why it wont work first :D Thankyou

    As I have tried repeatedly to help you with this issue in other threads
    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/avatars-and-writings?replies=9
    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/writing-under-avatarauthor-photos?replies=2 and you have not succeeded I am suggesting that you file a support ticket and get Staff to help you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

    The solution is to use a text widget, as we have told you before. If you won’t do that, you’re on your own. I don’t know why it does one thing on one site and a different thing on a different site: it’s not my business to know why things work the way they do. My job is to provide solutions. TT and I have provided solutions. Take them.

    Now THAT link is usefull TT thankyou and yes I know you have both tried helping me, which i appreciate very much, but thats all i want to know now WHY it wont do it.

    I have taken your advice raincoaster, but as I said above i want to know WHY and since you both were nicely handing me other options, I want to know WHY.

    I appreciate its not your job to know, I just wanted to KNOW WHY and WHERE to go, not for you to get a little stroppy which you appear to have done in your last paragraph.

    Its not mine or anyones fault, I am not technically minded, so whilst I appreciate the now link to support I dont appreciate the short shrift which is how it came across.

    This link can now be closed WITHOUT responding.

    @Sharon
    The focus for Volunteers is to provide solutions. The answer to the “why” is “it’s he way the theme, template, software, function or widget works”. To get en expanded answer you will have to contact Staff because we don’t have one.

    @TT yes i realised that – but i did ask in my previous question WHY, and thought since i had not appeared to have found a link to help otherwise you could have actually provided the link which i have now used rather than what you both said :)

    Thankyou :D

    First off, get rid of that annoying, distracting background image you are using. It will seriously send people running the opposite direction.

    Part of this has to do with the width of the sidebar. On sharonharvey it is 180px wide. On the twenty ten theme on the other two, it is 220px wide. If I change the sidebar width on sharonharvey your first name goes up to the left of the image since you have the widget set to left-align the image. If you center align the image in all the widgets, the text will then show below the image on all of them.

    The background I’m talking about is the animated one on sharonharvey.
