wordpress 2.1.1 dangerous? must upgrade? please explain.

can someone explain this to me? i stumbled upon this through http://www.havelaptopwilltravel.com/ and clicked on the link about needing to upgrade to wordpress 2.1.2. http://wordpress.org/development/2007/03/upgrade-212/
unfortunately, the instructions are too techie for my level and i’m at a loss on what this is about and if i’m even affected..
help please!

These instructions are irrelevant to us here at WordPress.com, as we’re running a very different and more advanced system here. We don’t do our own installs.

quick question. i need help with the andreas04 theme. the “about” above the sidebars is missing. i posted a question the other night but no one’s responded… should i re-post? or just wait…?

Do NOT re-post. That’s considered spamming the forum and very, very frowned on.
If there isn’t any response, perhaps it’s not a question anyone here can answer. If you have no “about” and it is a standard part of the theme, maybe you erased the page? Does it show in your Dashboard? Edit it again and hit Publish again and see what that does. Or do a search to see if anyone else has had this issue.

the page is still intact and shows up in the header. but the andreas04 theme was designed to have the “about” show up on the front page as well, above the two sidebars.. it was actually fine and then it just… disappeared…
i combed the forums but… nothing yet… i’m hoping the designer will respond. i really like the theme and don’t want to change it.
