I made a post on a wordpress site.
How can I modify it and if the given contact didn’t answer yet, how can I find his contact? -
What is the URL of the site you posted on? Was it a WordPress.com site? Or a site using the open-sourced WordPress software from WordPress.org?
Generally, there is no way to contact a site owner if they do not provide contact information on their site.

Hi there,
The account you’re contacting us from doens’t own or is a memebr to a WordPress.com site. Please let us know the address of the site you’re referring to so we can further assist you.
-
thanks for help!
as that site contains some private info, may I send You it in a private email?
or pls contact me (email visible only to moderators and staff)
Thanks -
We only offer email support for customers on our paid plans: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
As I don’t see any history WordPress.com sites under your account here, are you sure that it’s a WordPress.com site, and not a self-hosted WordPress.org site?
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Thanks for feedback.
Yer, it’s a wordpress.com site (xy.wordpress.com) and not under my account, but I would like to modify something

If I understand it right, it’s for account recovery and as this account is not mine…
How to “set it to private”?
I don’t understand, why a post can’t be modified?

Only the site owner can modify contents and/or comments on a site. We do not make changes to content on any site under any circumstances – we are the hosting provider, and aren’t involved with running the sites themselves.
If you left a comment on someone else’s site, or published a post on a site where you are no longer a member, you need to contact the owner of the site directly to remove that.
-
and what happens, if owner doesn’t contact?
why don’t let wordpress.com make changes for comments, who made it? It’s available on Linkedin, Facebook etc.
-
If the owner doesn’t provide a way to contact them on the site, then there’s nothing else you can do.

On LinkedIn and Facebook you’re a registered user of their platform, making a comment in a space they own and control.
WordPress.com is not a social media platform. It’s a website hosting provider. Yes, you can make a comment as a registered WordPress.com user, but you’re not making that comment on the WordPress.com platform. You’re making a comment on a website that belongs to the individual who created it. We don’t own that site. We just host it, and we don’t interfere with how its owner chooses to run it as long as they stay within our terms of use.
-
Does it mean, You can contact owner, right? Would You pls do it, as it’s possible from Your side.
To me and probably for other users also, it’s a platform where comments can be made and which should be modified if required.

If the owner doesn’t provide a way to contact them on the site, then there’s nothing else you can do, and we cannot contact the owner regarding this.
