WordPress 5.4 does NOT work with Chrome!

    Holy Lord. I just upgraded to 5.4, and it’s a train wreck. I can’t edit with Chrome at all. By a miracle, it works with the world’s worst browser, Microsoft Edge, but does ANYONE test this stuff before it’s released? If I try to edit anything, it gives me that stupid ‘Encountered an unknown error’ message.

    Hi there!

    It sounds like your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with another company.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.     WordPress 5.4 does work correctly on all browsers so, if you’re having issues, I’d recommend posting to the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
