WordPress 5.8 downgrade to 5.7 does not work

    Hi,

    I would like to raise a ticket regarding the website I am currently working on. I tried to download multiple plugins such as ‘WP Downgrade’ or ‘WP Rollback’ but none of them works as I want to.

    I just bought a theme where it is still running on 5.7.X and it does not support the current version 5.8 – Whenever I try to downgrade it – it says ‘Downgrade core’ and directs me to my update page but the button to reinstall does not appear.

    Any solution to this topic, please?

    It looks like your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted at GoDaddy.

    Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.

    Hi,

    Can you replace my core files with an older version? I contacted GoDaddy support and they told me to ask for WordPress support…

    I believe GoDaddy is referring to https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/ for support

    To clarify, GoDaddy uses the free open-source software downloaded from wordpress.org (not wordpress.com) so we’re not your point of contact for support.

    The version of the platform GoDaddy uses is different from the custom version we offer here, which is why we are not able to help directly, but you can get assistance at the link I added above.
