If this is not the proper place for this post, please let me know. Thank you

    Wordpress 5.8
    Spelling quirks:

    1.
    Spellchecker – active
    Language: German
Paste in German text into a new post.
All words show up as spelling errors. (dashed red lines under the words)

    Fixed:
    Select any word
    Right click
    Uncheck “Spell Checking” and then
    Re-Check “Spell Checking”
Entire text is now w/o spelling errors

    2. Problem:
    Spellchecker – active
    Language: German
Select a single word that Spellchecker does not recognize (dashed red line under the word)
    Right click selected word
    Add to Dictionary
    Deselect word
Word still shows an error (red Line)

    Fixed:
After adding to dictionary and with word still selected:
    Uncheck “Spell Checking” and then
    Re-Check “Spell Checking”

Hi there! I don’t show that you have any sites hosted here at WordPress.com

WordPress.com and WordPress.org (where you can download the open-source WordPress software) are two different entities. We also don’t develop the WordPress software – the volunteers who work on the open-source project do.

If you have feedback on WordPress, reach out to the WordPress.org community with your feedback here:

    https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

Otherwise, what you describe may be an issue with your browser and you may need to check those settings as well.

    I hope that helps!

    Thank you.

Took your hint about the browser.

    Works great in Brave.

Works not in Firefox (in certain installations)

    Thank you again :)
