wordpress account with no website

  A friend was sent an invitation to become an Author of a WordPress blog by the blog’s owner. The email invitation contains two steps: 1. Sign up for a wordpress account, and 2. Accept invitation. When he clicks the link to sign up, he is brought to a page for getting a WordPress blog, not just an account. This was not my own experience. I’m an Author of this same blog, but I don’t have a WordPress blog of my own, just a user account.

  What can my friend do to accept the invitation to just be an Author of a blog, not have a blog of his own?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Thanks for your help. Using a different computer already solved the problem.
