WordPress Admin Access

    I’m following a WP tutorial and its showing how to access WP Admin by going to your browser, type in domain followed by a /wp-admin and hit enter The tutorial shows after hitting enter, a WP login page to which you add in account user name and password. When I do it, I’m brought to just a user name location and an email is sent to me where I then click on the link to access my admin (Dashboard) page. Is this a new way? Any way to re set to how the tutorial does it?
