WordPress Admin Features in the regular WordPress

  i had a look at the new WordPress MU and there are a lot of cool features that would be awesome to have in the regular .org version. is this going to happen or is this the start of paying for the goods?

  Just wondering i want them in my site :)

  Can you give specific examples?

  Everything except the tag surfer and stats are in the downloadable version of the app.

  Tags and stats are proprietary code that has been specifically written for wordpress.com and I don’t think it even comes with the MU version of the application.

  Matt has always said that WordPress will always be free. How long that will last I don;t know…

  i didn’t know the stats and tegs were specific to wordpress.com i would love to see them in the .org version.

  but the import export would be useful as well.

  import/export will be in the next version of WordPress (2.1)

  And the tag surfer relies on the community of wp.com. It would be very difficult to implement on a standalone wp system. That’s why there’s things like Technorati, digg etc on the net already.

  There’s an import/export version available as a plugin for the standalone version, but as Dale say it should be in the next version.

  As for stats, there are various plugins available, as well as Analytics from Google.
