Hi hubtvart,
The “Follow” button was added by WordPress.com to drive more traffic to your blog; however you can easily disable it by following the instructions in this article: https://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/09/21/more-traffic-for-your-blog-with-the-follow-button/ – the article also highlights the many benefits of keeping it there so perhaps you change your mind and keep it afterall! :)
With reference to the “Like” button, the following article will help you: https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/#likes-and-your-site – you can easily turn the “Like” button on or off!
With reference to upgrading to a paid plan on WordPress.com, you can see all the differences between all of the plans by visiting: https://wordpress.com/pricing/ – please note that the Personal and Premium plans remove the WordPress.com ads whereas the Business plan removes both the WordPress.com ads and branding!
I hope that helps! Let me know if you need any additional assistance :)

Hi @zyousafi,
Thanks for your answer.“FOLLOW/LOGIN”:
The link suggest to go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading > Email.
I see neither “Reading” nore “Email” on my dashboard… Where is it ?“LIKE”:
Settings > Share > Sharing buttons > When “Show Like button” is unchecked , I still have the button in the front office.
Did I miss something ?Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hey hubtvart!
It looks like some things have changed and the “Reading > Email” options are no longer available. If you’re looking to get rid of the action bar(which contains the Follow/Login buttons) you can do that via custom CSS. Go to your dashboard, then click the Customize button next to Themes. Once there click CSS and enter the following code in the text box:
#actionbar { display: none; }
That should remove the buttons entirely.
As for the like buttons, unchecking the “Show Like Button” option will remove the like button from all future posts. For existing posts you’ll need to edit each post individually or bulk edit them as described at the bottom of this page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/likes/#turn-likes-onoff-on-specific-posts-or-pages
Hopefully this helps! Let us know if it’s still not working for you. -
Both “Follow/Login” and “Like” buttons are now removed ! IT WORKS !! Thanks a lot @Thagsmumbo !
