WordPress Advertising
-
Hello, I just put up a simple website as a single page for a business. I paid for the starter plan because it states it removes all wordpress.com advertising. But once the site was up I noticed the footer says Blog at wordpress.com. And on the mobile version there is some kind of wordpress widget to manage subscriptions and one to log into wordpress. I’m not sure how to remove these myself, please help! Thanks!
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there!
Thank you for reaching out! Our paid plans remove advertising from your site. However, it’s important to note that the WordPress.com footer credit is not considered advertising. It’s the line at the bottom of your site’s footer that identifies your site as a WordPress.com site.
All WordPress.com users can choose from several options for the footer credit, such as:
- Website Built with WordPress.com
- WordPress.com Logo
- A WordPress.com Website
- Start a Blog at WordPress.com
- Website Powered by WordPress.com
- Website Built by WordPress.com
- Start a Store on WordPress.com
However, if you want to remove the footer credit entirely, that option is available only for Creator and Entrepreneur plan sites.
Once you have one of those plans in place, you can remove the footer credit by following these instructions: https://wordpress.com/support/footer-credits/#remove-the-footer-credit
Please keep in mind that if you downgrade from one of those plans, the footer credit will be added back to your site.
I hope this clarifies things! Let us know if you have any questions or need further assistance.
