WordPress after upgrade to larger HD

    Hello All,

This is a precautionary post since I worked pretty hard on setting up my pi and don’t want my harddrive swap to ruin everything.

    Current setup:

I have a 64GB USB stick mounted to a folder called “DATA”. It is there that I have 2 websites, with one of the websites having an associated owncloud installation. Both websites have WordPress installed with their own databases. I also have MYSQL installed in the default location which I believe is on the pi itself along with NGINX.

I just ordered a TB hard drive and would like to unmount my 64GB flashdrive and then mount the TB harddrive in the same “DATA” folder. I simply want to move all the files to a temporary folder unmount the flash drive and then mount the TB hard drive to “DATA” then I want to move all the files back. I am hoping by doing this I wouldn’t break any links or “salts” (don’t really know what that is but I saw a bunch of online messages about things like that). I also prefer my wordpress sites to be in the parent directory and not in the mydomain.com/worpress/ directory. I know when I move the files out of the wordpress directory and place them in the parent directory I have a lot of trouble having wordpress relink everything since it still points to mydomain.com/wordpress/ when looking for files. However, I managed to get it to work. I saw this site with a lot of scary advice that sometimes goes over my head: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

    Thank you for the advice
