WordPress and Adsense?
-
Is there a way to get Adsense integrated into my WordPress blog? If so how do I add it.
I would also like to know how to put banner ads up on my site I would rather sell banner ads than use adsense.
If you need to see my blog it’s http://www.over-exposed.info
Please help.

No. No way at all. Please see the FAQ (linked above) and then do a search for adsense on the forum search and have a read of the myriad posts on this forum about adsense and the like.

So, then, do I understand this correctly? We cannot add an Amazon.com banner, a Google AdSense icon, or a PayPal link using wordpress for our blogs? Is that right?

You may have one paypal button (non-javascript html version) and that’s it.
WordPress.com blogs are non-commercial free blogs. They are different from wordpress.org blogs and different rules apply to them. In a nutshell the answer to your question is “no” we cannot advertise on our blogs here.
There is an exception but unless you intend to attempt to qualify and pay for a VIP blog along with other very notable bloggers like Robert Scoble, etc. I’m afraid that is your answer. If you wish you can confirm this advertising restriction and the only exceptions to it by reading the FAQs blog search box response which is quoted immediately below:
Adsense and other Ads
“Adsense, Yahoo, Chitika and other ads are not permitted to be added by users. Adverts that may be inserted when using an external blogging program will be blocked.
PayPerPost is not permitted.
Multiple affiliate links are also not permitted. One discreet text link per blog is okay. Any more than that, send a feedback for clarification. Clicktrackers and any promotion of the “I made a million on the internet and so can you” type of advertising are expressly forbidden.
We have a very low tolerance for blogs created purely for search engine optimization or commercial purposes, machine-generated blogs, and will continue to nuke them, so if that’s what you’re interested in WordPress.com is not for you.”However do not despair for if you wish to have a commercial blog your desire can be accommodated here. That’s where you can either download a free blog template that you self host or you can hire a web host to do this for you. There’s a pink sticky post “please read me first before posting” at the head of the forum you may wish to consult as it clarifies the differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org.

That is correct if you are using wordpress.com for your blogs. If you are self hosted then it’s up to you.
I will (I know!) be corrected on this as I believe you can have ONE affiliate link, and as long as the paypal button is the standard HTML one and not the Javasscript one they are ok, but adsense or any other form of advertising is a no-no.
It’s one of the quickest ways to get your blog deleted by the administrators of wordpress.com.
Please do not compare this service to blogger as this service is way way superior simply because it’s not a spam haven or quick money generator. wp.com is a fantastic resource for those who hav something to say, not for those who want to make easy money.

Just to clarify: WordPress.com itself has an Adsense deal. Individual WordPress.com bloggers are using the free service provided by WordPress and in part subsidized by that deal. They cannot make their own advertising deals.
If you wish to gain income from advertising, but you like the WordPress software, your best bet is to use the version at WordPress.org and put the software into your own webspace. Then you can not only put in ads, you can use javascript and embeds, which we can’t do here. If you plan to monetize your blog anyway, and you’re any degree of successful at it, you should be able to more than pay for the blog hosting service in this way. A blog getting several hundred hits a day will make thirty bucks or less a month from Adsense, from what I’ve heard.

They cannot make their own advertising deals.
That’s not 100% correct. You can do the one advertising link in the sidebar as noted above.
Also there is the VIP program for professional bloggers.
Doesn’t someone owe me a steak dinner now for bring up adsense again? ;)
-
Dr Mike – if we were on the same continent I would find you and take you out for a steak dinner! :)

How do a person qualify for a professional blogger? If You see my blog, I’m concentrating and restricting myself to HR strategies, concepts and mostly on HR outsourcing. I’m a professional HR consultant practizing in this area too. Does this mean I be qualified for the same?
Please clarify
-
Generally speaking, a professional blogger makes their income from blogging alone. Click on these links you see above “qualify” and “pay for a VIP blog” and that will help you determine who a professional blogger is and if you can qualify. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=7445&replies=12#post-49050

Can You cite an example blog belonging to any one professional blogger so that everyone can fairly understand the difference .
