WordPress app on Macbook laptop

Hi, I have recently added the WordPress app to my MacBook Air laptop & I signed in easily & could carry on with my blog nice & easily. Now for some reason I try and get into it this evening & its signed me out & comes up with a message saying ‘you need to set oauth_client_id’ in your config file? What does this mean please?

Yes it is. I was logged into the app on my laptop & now I’m not. Seems to come up with that error message previously mentioned.

Hi there,
Go to your Account’s Security Settings and under the Connected App tab disconnect the WordPress.com Desktop App. Then try logging in from the app again and let me know how it goes.

Yes joesjourney2017.wordpress.com is the one I am working on. It has not been deleted as I have started a new blog on it today?!
I can access this within the browser. Not the app I have downloaded…

Can you confirm the address of your site? Can you try accessing it directly rather than via an app to check it is definitely online?

I can access it on my iPhone app.
Its showing joeysjourney17.wordpress.com. So I am guessing that’s the name on it now.Maybe this is the reason why I can’t access the app on my laptop? the name on this message comes up on the web browser.

Yes I think you’ve found the reason. The app needs to point to the correct site https://joeysjourney17.wordpress.com/

How do I do that though? It won’t let me log in?

That’s tricky. Could you try removing the app completely, then re-downloading and reinstalling it? We don’t see this error often, but last time we did that ended up resolving the issue for anyone who had it.

I have deleted & downloaded the app a dozen times now & still having the same issue. Getting rather annoying now…
