WordPress automatically reserved a domain I need to register
-
Grasping at straws here, but I have a problem with registering a domain. Not sure if I’m right about this, but here goes.
It looks like amroasting.com is a sample page created for a user on account startup (meant to be a placeholder and deleted later, but the page was never deleted). I guess maybe it’s randomly reserving domains?
I am starting a coffee roasting company called AM Roasting, and was hoping to register this domain. Does anyone know if there’s a way to free up this domain? I have left a comment to make a request to the user, but I doubt they will ever see it.
WP.com: Unknown
Jetpack: Yes
Correct account: UnknownThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com didn’t reserve or register that domain. We nor you can’t just claim a registered domain for your needs.
Best solution is to choose another TLD instead of com, e.g. amroasting.coffee

To add to what
staartmeesmentioned, according to the public WHOIS data for that domain, it looks likeamroasting.comis registered with this company: http://www.justhost.com/They’re a separate company from us here at WordPress.com, and it looks like whoever did register
amroasting.comhas begun their site setup using the free WordPress software which comes from WordPress.org.On rare occasions it is possible to purchase a domain name from the existing owner; that isn’t something we handle however. Aside from choosing a different TLD, if you do want that .com version then the only suggestion we can really make is contacting the company it’s registered with in case they have any process in place to facilitate contact between you and the domain owner.
