  if I decide to use an owned domain name, will the WordPress banner disappear? Or do I need to subscribe to a plan?

  Hi there,

  In order to use your own domain name, you need to subscribe to any of the paid plans (i.e Personal, Premium, Business).

  All of those paid plans have no advertisements on your page unlike the free plan.

  However, if you need to remove the ‘WordPress.com’ branding that appears at the bottom of your pages (i.e on the footer), you need to subscribe to the Business plan.
