WordPress blog transfer

    My wix blog is free and I do not have a domain name, I just use the domain URL they gave me (https://hpproserv7.wixsite.com/hpproservblog). However, we do have a domain for our regular company website which was created with WordPress. Our company website domain is http://www.hpproserv.com.

    My question is I already started a blog page on WordPress blog page at: http://www.hpproserv.home.blog. Is this the same page that i would import the wix blog info to? Is this URL the same URL I will have after the import? Will my wordpress blog be connected to my company’s website?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    When the import is complete, you’ll have a site that’s pre-filled with your content & ready to be your new home on the web. You would be having two options available:
    1. Import to a new site
    2. Import to an existing site

    Hi there,

    I have a few thoughts to add to what @smitsahatiya provided.

    It looks like your company website, http://www.hpproserv.com, is using the open-source WordPress.org software, whereas your new blog, hpproserv.home.blog, is a WordPress.com site.

    Here’s some information explaining the difference between WordPress.org and WordPress.com sites:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    With that said, there are a couple of ways to go about what you’re looking to do since the WordPress sites you have are hosted differently, and therefore function differently.

    OPTION 1

    You can import your Wix Blog to your company’s website, http://www.hpproserv.com, by following the instructions found here:

    How to Migrate from Wix to WordPress (Complete Guide)

    The URL of your company site will stay the same after the import. If you choose this option, you do not need hpproserv.home.blog since your blog is part of your other company website.

    OPTION 2

    If you want your company website and your blog to be two separate sites, you can import your Wix site into hpproserv.home.blog by following the instructions found under “Import to an Existing Site” at the link @smitsahatiya provided above. The hpproserv.home.blog URL will stay the same after the import.

    If you then want to be able to connect hpproserv.home.blog to http://www.hpproserv.com, you can provide a link to it, so visitors can access your blog. I see that http://www.hpproserv.com currently has an “H&P Blog” button on the homepage that links to your Wix blog. You would just want to replace the link that is attached to that button with the link to your new blog at hpproserv.home.blog, and visitors will be directed there instead.
