WordPress Blog URL Redirection and Masking

  Hello All,

  We have a our official office WordPress blog for example ‘example.wordpress.com’, we would like to move it to ‘anotherdomain.com’ which is hosted in our server. We know the setting to redirect the URL, but we are not able to mask the URL ‘example.wordpress.com’ to ‘example.com’. Can any cool WordPress buddies from here please help us to sought out the domain masking issue?.

  Take a look at domain mapping http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/10/domain-mapping/ The redirection thing, as you have discovered, doesn’t work very well.

  I believe I followed all the instructions, and the domain is now redirecting to my WordPress.com blog, but the URL displayed in the browser still has xx.wordpress.com.

  Have I done something wrong, is it just a matter of time, or did I misunderstand what I was buying?

  It takes awhile. I would wait at least a full day; if it still does not work properly, you’ll have to contact staff.
