WordPress built-in gallery not responsive

Hello.I’m having two issues with WordPress’ built-in gallery maker.

Both of my issues can be seen in this post: http://www.abridgedpause.com/chrisgrayandloveless1

My first problem is that the gallery does not seem to be responsive. On this page, there are multiple grid galleries, and it seems like two of them are somehow not cropping all the images at the same size. You can see that in 2 occasions, there is a larger, different shaped, rectangle image ruining the look of the usually square pictures.

The second issue has to do with the hover description when I have a gallery. When the gallery is big and the pictures small, the description of the image that appears when you hover over the image takes up the entire picture and doesn’t allow you to click the image to open it bigger.

Are both of these issues WordPress issues or is this a theme issue? I recently bought Throne, but had the same problem with SuperSkeleton prior to this.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

First, just a note, the site abridgedpause.com is a self-hosted site. You’ve reached support for WordPress.com sites. The difference is described here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Since I don’t have access directly to your site files, I’m unable to provide direct support. However, I’ll do my best to answer both questions. In the future, you will want to go to wordpress.org/support for your self-hosted site.

I tested the responsiveness of your site, and it looks like the galleries are indeed responsive in nature (they adjust per the size of the browser). The different sizes of the images is due to the type of gallery selected (rectangular). You can see the different gallery choices here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#examples-of-gallery-styles

I would try switching to “square” instead and see if that achieves the look you’re going for.

The second issue has to do with the hover description when I have a gallery. When the gallery is big and the pictures small, the description of the image that appears when you hover over the image takes up the entire picture and doesn’t allow you to click the image to open it bigger.

Hmm I’m not experiencing this on my side. The caption only hovers over the bottom part of the image:

Also, when I click the image, it opens up into a full screen slide show as shown here:

Maybe you could point me to the actual image you’re clicking when you’re having trouble?
