WordPress Business Plan and Hosting

We have purchased the WordPress Business plan. I’m troubleshooting Elementor as the edit section is not loading. Elementor’s website suggests contacting the host. How do I contact WordPress to get support on this? I have a WordPress Business Plan and I’m assuming WordPress is my host. Am I correct?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi! We are indeed your host. You can reach out directly at https://wordpress.com/help/contact anytime you’d like.

If you’d like to troubleshoot here in the forums, can you share the error you get and Elementor’s recommendation?

Thanks so much for your quick response. On the left side of the screen in Elementor, the Elementor Widget Panel is not loading. This is what is suggested on the Elementor Website:

Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Ensure you meet the system requirements. You can check if your system meets these requirements by going to Elementor > System Info. Two of the main things to check are the PHP version and memory limit, but also take note of any other items that might indicate a problem.
Increase your memory limit to 512M if using additional resource heavy plugins such as WooCommerce. This is the most common cause of loading issues. See below for a quick guide to increasing these or contact your hosting provider.
Make sure you are using the most updated versions of Elementor, Elementor Pro (if you are using that), WordPress and your theme. Sometimes it isn’t obvious that there is an update available. Go to Dashboard > Updates and click the Check Again button to be sure.
Deactivate all of your plugins except Elementor and Elementor Pro. If this solves the problem, reactivate each plugin one by one, until you spot the problematic plugin. If found, contact that plugin’s developers for help, or use a different plugin.
Switch your theme (temporarily) to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Seventeen to see if your theme is causing an issue. If so, contact the theme’s developers for help, or use a different theme.
If the problem persists, ask your hosting company to provide you with ModSecurity error logs and resolve any problems from it. Also, ask your hosting company to make sure the PHP Zlib extension is enabled on your server.
In some cases, you may need to increase the value of max_input_vars. Please ask your host to help with this.

  • Thanks for that. We’re checking in with admins re: your limits and what not. I do know several people run Elementor here without trouble, though, so I don’t think it’s a server configuration issue.

I did notice you’re running a dev version of Elementor — which might explain why we’re not running into this with other users. Can you confirm that’s intentional? And, if you run the current release instead, do you still have the error then?

If you want to test temporarily disabling plugins, just avoid disabling the ones that are part of your managed plan (they should a have a message along those lines).

Actually I didn’t know I was running a Dev Verison… I just uploaded the Theme so I wonder if why a Dev version is being used. Should I check to see if I can remove the dev version and run the non-dev version?

I checked my plugins and looks like “Elementor Beta (Developer Edition)” is not Active. If it is active….how can I change this?

  • Hi there,

You’re correct – the Elementor beta plugin is not enabled at the moment.

We asked some folks to take a look at this, and it looks like the error is with the Elementor Google Map Extended plugin, rather than Elementor itself. We suspect the reason is that you don’t have an API key for the plugin, so it causes an error instead.

If you deactivate that plugin, or add an API key at https://nuanfarmandresort.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=eb_google_map_setting, things should work properly.

You get that API key directly from Google, as explained in the FAQ on the plugin page at https://wordpress.org/plugins/extended-google-map-for-elementor/. Please contact support for that plugin directly for more help with this.

I disabled Google Maps and it worked. Elementor is now working. THANK YOU!

  • You’re very welcome :)
