WordPress can’t find user/blog invitee

  I’ve tried repeatedly to add someone as an editor to my blog, but even though he is a wordpress account holder the system can’t find him. Any advice?

  Could he perhaps have an account at a WP blog other than WP.com? There are thousands, and their logins are not connected to ours. Can that person log in to WordPress.com itself under that username? If so, have them double-check their email on the Profile to ensure that’s where the invitation is going.
