WordPress claims blog no longer there but site is semi-functional

Hi,
Though I am mostly a novice when it comes to solving website related issues, I can usually find an answer with some research but I’ve come upon a problem that’s stumped me.
Earlier today, I was searching for a way to import content on my website, thisoldhauntedhouse.com,back into the WordPress blog format. Basically, I wanted to take my GoDaddy hosted WordPress website and change the address to a WordPress blog only. However, when I went back to the admin and tried to access my information, it claimed the WordPress blog was “deleted by its author” when I did no such thing. The website is still up with media that I’ve incorporated into the posts, but my content has all but disappeared. I also still see that I can view site stats but that’s it.
Can anyone please offer information on what might have occurred and a solution on what I might do to retrieve the information? My web hosting expires at the end of the month and all I wanted to do was to keep it as a WordPress blog in the future.

So, can you explain a bit more here.
Did you have a thisoldhauntedhouse website on WordPress.com and then transfer to a GoDaddy hosted WordPress site and now want to return to WordPress.com? Or were it never on WordPress.com in the first place?

Yes, I began it as a blog on WordPress but moved it to a website hosted by GoDaddy. My intention was to move it back to a simple blog rather than renew the hosting. Somehow WordPress claimed I deleted it. Not sure if I can get it back based on info stored on GoDaddy.

You SHOULD be able to export your GoDaddy site and import it here. Have you asked GoDaddy support for help with the export?

I have not approached GoDaddy yet because the issue seems to stem from WordPress. As I mentioned, the site is still up but, according to WordPress, it doesn’t exist. When I tried to enter a new site under that name, it claims that it’s taken. At this point, there’s nothing to import to because I can’t access the WordPress site.

The (partial) site that exists at thisoldhauntedhouse.com is a self-hosted WordPress.org site. It is not a WordPress.com site. You will need to access it and export before you can import anything into WordPress.com.

I did go through WordPress.org’s support and they sent me back here which is frustrating when I knew it should have gone through them in the first place. I’ve actually contacted a friend who’s going to help. Thanks for trying. I appreciate it.
