I am looking for the right profile to suit my needs. I am some what familiar with your brand through WordPress.org, though I know there is a distinct difference. I want to be a happiness engineer and share the WordPress capabilities with my community. I ask, how might I go about this?

I’d recommend getting to know the difference between our service and the WordPress.org project:
Happiness Engineers are specific to the software and services offered by Automattic, including WordPress.com, Jetpack, WooCommerce, etc. If you’d like to be hired here, you’ll want to get to know our services very well, read stories from other Happiness Engineers, then apply: https://automattic.com/work-with-us
You really don’t need to apply here though to become a helpful member of a WordPress community though. I personally volunteered at WordCamps and at other meetups and tech conferences for several years before I started working here. Many others volunteer in the community forums, here or on the forums at WordPress.org. There are many other ways to help with the WordPress project too:
