  SEO-ranking has nothing to do with the platform you are using. To know more about wordpress.com and SEO, https://wordpress.com/support/seo/

  Hi there,

  Sites that rank top on search engines get there because a search engine thinks the content on that site is the most relevant result for a particular search term.

  My own site, hosted here on WordPress.com, have been number 1 in online searches many times over the years, but only when I published a post that was most relevant for a specific search term. So it’s entirely possible to come in in that space for a WordPress.com site, but it depends on what you write on that site.
