WordPress.com account ‘already connected to another user on this site.’

We’ve taken over a mishandled, older website. When trying to connect Jetpack to the WordPress.com account, we get this error. We are using the same credentials that have been used when our WordPress account was first created. How do we find out WHO is the ‘other user’– and how do we get our WordPress account connected again?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The website we need help with is faulknerhistory.org !

  • Hi there,

The site is currently connected to the WordPress.com account you are contacting us from, faulknerhistory. It was connected 48 hours ago and is the only user connected to the site. Everything looks good:

If you still encountering issues, please let us know. But things are set up and working properly from what I see.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, we are fully and properly connected now (after we deactivated Jetpack, deleted it and re-installed the plugin). Great!

Now, here’s what started our problem: We’ve seemingly lost the ability to receive emails sent to our faulknercountyhistory@gmail account – We are using Jetpack’s Contact form block on our Contact Us page.

When we tried today to insert a brand new contact form, the popup window Form Builder Page did not allow us to “add this form to my post.” Clicking on the button seems to do nothing. However, the contact form code is inserted on the page.
Testing the form gets a response, “Your message has been sent.”

    What are we doing wrong?

  • Hi there,

We use a native integration of Jetpack here on WordPress.com, and while many features are similar, the way they connect in the backend is not the same as with the plugin version.

Generally speaking you should be able to edit your form block to set another email address, the option is found in the block settings in the sidebar on the right (when you are clicking on the block to edit it) which is true both for our native integration and forms created using the Jetpack plugin.

More info on how this is accessed here: https://jetpack.com/support/jetpack-blocks/contact-form/#block-settings

When we tried today to insert a brand new contact form, the popup window Form Builder Page did not allow us to “add this form to my post.” Clicking on the button seems to do nothing.

This may be a different issue, and it’s not possible for us to investigate since our integration of the form block is different. However, you can get help directly from Jetpack staff here, and they will be able to take a look.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

Appreciate the pointing to the correct direction. Now we’ve got WordPress working! THANKS MUCH!
