WordPress.com always being displayed

    Hi,
I am Jordan Beckwith’s assistant and a couple of years ago we switched from I believe it was GoDaddy to WordPress.
    So I have 2 questions:
    1. when he was with the previous domain it was always just: jordanbeckwith.com but now it always has jordanbeckwithcom.wordpress.com so clients can’t search the easier and simplified original name. How can we go about changing back to jordanbeckwith.com

    2. If we are looking to go back to another domain provider how will that work with what was created on here etc?

    Thanks so much,
    Allison

    Hello,
You need to go to settings, general, change your site address. Then you can choose to upgrade your account or you can press ‘just search for a domain’.
The reason you’re seeing a .wordpress.com is because you’re using a free plan, with wordpress hosting you.

    Hi there,

jordanbeckwith.com is registered with GoDaddy and currently redirects to a REMAX agent page.

If you want to use jordanbeckwith.com on your WordPress.com website, you’ll need to upgrade the site to at least the Personal plan and then connect your GoDaddy domain.
    https://wordpress.com/pricing/
    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

If you want to use a different hosting provider and not WordPress.com, you can export your site’s current content and take it wherever you like. https://wordpress.com/support/export/ However, you might want to have a look at this comparison chart first https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

Post back here if you have other questions about this.
