WordPress.com not responding intermittentlys
-
Our university, Southern Connecticut State University, has a couple classes that include WordPress in their curriculum. We are experiencing intermittent network issues where our students, faculty, and staff are not able to access the WordPress.com domain. Are you able to provide any insight as to why the IP address 149.152.191.2 may be blocked intermittently?

I am writing to address a significant issue with my account and a recent charge of $120.28 made to my card on January 16, 2025, for a service I cannot access.
My account (username: thejoyofphilanthropy) has been closed, and I am unable to log in. This has left me with no means to cancel the service or prevent further charges. It is unacceptable to charge for an account I cannot access and for which I cannot manage subscriptions.
Please take the following actions immediately:
- Refund the $120.28 charged to my card.
- Ensure no further charges are made to my account or payment method.
- Confirm the cancellation of any ongoing subscriptions linked to this account.
I trust you will resolve this promptly. If further documentation is needed, I am happy to provide additional details. I will escalate to the BBB and other relevant agencies if this refund is not provided in 3-5 days.

Network-level blocks like this can happen for various reasons, including firewall rules, ISP filtering, or automated security measures on WordPress.com’s end. One way to determine if access issues are local or external is to log request failures. A plugin like Traffic Monitor (https://wordpress.org/plugins/traffic-monitor/) can help by logging HTTP requests, including status codes, IP addresses, and referrer URLs. This can confirm what WordPress.com is seeing in your requests for clues on what’s going on.
