    Hello,

I would like some help to recover access to 2 websites hosted on WordPress.com. The have been probably hacked, becaus we can’t anymore login with an admin account. Password and recovering email seem to be changed. And we can’t contact the person who made the sites.

So I would like to know the process to recover the administration accounts to these websites and recover access to the backoffice. We try the recovery form but we don’t have any “Proof of Ownership” requested. Of course, we can proof our identity and give you all documents you may deem appropriate to recover the access to the sites by PM.

    Thank you in advance.
    Regards.

    Allan

Hi Allan, the irony is if we didn’t require these proofs of ownership, sites could easily be hacked. That’s why we require it.

We don’t have a way to verify your ID since we didn’t collect that at signup. And, if you weren’t the original owner I’m not sure how that would help anyway. But we do have access to the proofs we mention here:

If you were paying for upgrades with a company card, for example, or have access to receipts for that, that’ll do. Did the sites have any paid upgrades?

If you’ll send links we can check.
