wordpress.com subdomain for my blog

    Hello,
    I would like to register a new blog, and have my domain be my username.wordpress.com, or WordPress.com/myusername.

    I know this was possible in the past, and am wondering if this is still possible as an option and how to achieve this.

    Hey Stephanie, sure thing. Just enter the name you want when signing up. It needs to be available. If that’s giving you trouble, can you send more details?

    Thanks for your reply. I was able to get resolve this.

    I’m curious though – I tried to change the theme to a simple white background, but I still see the forrest and trees image.

    I would just like to set things up in the simplest way possible.

    The easiest and most simple for a blog. Yet, in my opinion, the WordPress system does’t make it easy – this is why I haven’t done anything with it.

    If you know of a resource that can walk me thru the most basic steps, I would appreciate that. I’d like to upload my logo and get the basic information up and then I could start using it.

    Have you ever placed an ad on criagslsit? They make it SO EASY. Amazon also makes it so easy to use and keep track of things, etc.

    Some sites, however, get so involved that I think many users just give up (meaning I don’t think I’m the only one).

    So if you know of a resource that can show me hoe to set things up in a simple way (without constantly showing me all the other features and options available and causing overwhelm) I would love to use it.

    Hi there!

    The image you’re referring to is coming from the page that’s set as the homepage on your site. When you change themes, we don’t delete or remove content from your site, allowing you to keep changing themes without needing to re-do your entire site. This is why you will keep seeing the same content even after changing the theme.

    If you’d like to replace the homepage content, some of the themes (which are under the “Recommended” heading on https://wordpress.com/themes ) will prompt you to replace the content of your site with that of the theme’s demo content.
