WordPress.com to WordPress.org
-
Hi,
I bought a wordpress plan yesterday. I have just cancelled my plan this morning :
– WordPress.com Premium on https://maquillageconscient506777905.wordpress.com
– Domain: maquillageconscient.comI would like to suscribe to WordPress.org. I have choosen another host O2Swith. The host name maquillageconscient.com is unavailable. So they ask me the TRANSFER CODE.
How can I have it ?
I have deleted my website so i don’t have the access to it anymore.
How long do i have to wait to do the transfer ?Thank you,

It would have been easier to keep ownership of the domain here at WordPress.com. You could have still mapped it elsewhere and then transferred it entirely after the 60 day lock.
Now you don’t own that domain at all. As it was cancelled so soon after registration WordPress.com may well release it in due course. Then you could buy it again somewhere else (if no one else did first). This thread has been tagged for staff assistance. -
Thank you for your reply.
Sorry what is exactly “due course” ?
The domain maquillageconscient.com is still unavailable.
I need to know when will it be available ? -

I don’t know. That’s what a member of staff may be able to tell you.

I found the reply !
Just for you to know…
A member of staff said : “Yes. The domain should be released at day 5 after cancellation if it was with in that 48 hour cancellation window”
Thank you

Correct. You canceled the domain within 5 days of registering it, so it should be available again soon. Once a domain name is deleted by the registry at this stage, it is immediately available for registration by any registrant through any Registrar, and that happens shortly after the 5 day grace period.
But as @themagicrobot mentioned, it is available for anyone to register the domain and domain squatters are a real thing and the safer bet is to have us restore the domain and point it to your new host until the 60 day lock waiting period is up.
We can immediately restore the domain for you within that 5 day period, but after that we no longer have control over it. So, you should decide ASAP on how you want it re-registered. Again, you can always point the domain over to your host from WordPress.com until 60 days of registration hits (where you can transfer the domain anywhere you please). That will at least guarantee you will get it back without any potential complications.
Just wanted to give you that option if you want it.
Thanks,
