    I want to transfer my exciting WordPress.com website to WordPress.org

    How to do that

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    The first thing we will do is to move the WordPress.com —> WordPress.org

    Questions:
    – Do I need a blue host for WordPress.org?
    – because working with WordPress.com, my domain name is actually free. If I move my website to WordPress.org, will I be able to keep my domain name?

    You will need hosting if you’re going the self-hosted route with WordPress.org and Bluehost is a good option for a host.

    because working with WordPress.com, my domain name is actually free. If I move my website to WordPress.org, will I be able to keep my domain name?

    Your .wordpress.com subdomain is free, but your custom domain is free for the first year with the purchase of a paid plan on WordPress.com. You can move your custom domain over to a different host, but no your .wordpress.com subdomain.

    However, I do not see a site under your account that is hosted with WordPress.com. sammarketingtechnologies.com is connected with your WordPress.com account via Jetpack, but is not hosted with us here at WordPress.com. Is this the site you’re wanting to move over to Bluehost? sammarketingtechnologies.com is currently hosted with Go Daddy.
