    Hi Jessica,

Even with those plugins if someone desperately wants to download your images there are ways to do so. I see you already have watermarks on your pictures which is a great way to dissuade people from stealing them. Have you noticed people trying to pass your work off as their own? It may just be that people really like your photography and want to keep some samples on their computer to view offline.

Yeah, I figured that people can but it is just an extra precaution. Also in South Africa it has been known for some Photographers totake other’s pictures, as I have seen on Facebok that there are groups that people even expose Photographer Frauds that have done that and I get worried what if someone tries to take mine.

I have also seen strange links on my stats page to another site such as this one: musicas.baixar-musicas-gratis.com/baixar …..

But also I do not really like it if other people take my pictures that I worked so hard to make. Some are done at shoots that took hours or are were hard and challending to do. I was at University for 5 years and it just sucks, I worked so hard to get my pictures to look that great. Also what also sucks is that I have had over 2000 hits now of my website and out of all of thos I have had x2 leads generated or someone interested in getting a shoot or pictures. I have no idea where else my pictures are going.

I think that I am sharing too many pictures on my website and perhaps need to be more business and sales focused.

I also really want that right click plug in for my site.

What also annoys me, is that I have spent a lot of time making that site and have paid to host my site on wordpress, and then after that you discover, oh no, you cannot have plug-in’s. They should state that at the beginning. :/ hahaha :)

I do not agree, that perhaps people just want to have them on their PC. Nope, I do not agree and I am a bit angry that WordPress will not let me do Plug-In’s. It is not right, and ooh, you should host your site with WordPress.org to have plug-in’s and you have to go and read a bunch of support things to find that out.

    That is non-sense

You should pay me if you would like to have my pictures on your PC, as I am a photographer and do that for a living.

I think that I should have a request, if you would like to see my pictures or put my name through the pictures so that it is hard to use them.

I do appreciate that people would like to enjoy my pictures, that is good, that is why God probably blessed me with that gift. I would however like to get paid as that is my profession. :) you know what I mean … :) Regards

f you use the Duotone theme right click is disabled. It’s not available on any other themes here and it’s not likely that it will become available. Using any disable right click plugin simply creates a false sense of security because the instructions for circumventing it are all over the internet. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/prevent-content-theft/

I have a friend that is a Pro photographer – he only puts up low quality pictures on his site – the joke is you can print a post card for your refrigerator from his site – all others pay – i.e. contact him for a high quality image

    @auxclass
I have photographer friends who do the same. You have to pay to get a high resolution quality image.

Bottom line: If you don’t want your content to be stolen then accept the fact that only sure way to prevent theft is not posting it on the internet.

I’m afraid it’s up to you to check what any seller offers as part of their package before buying, but you wouldn’t be the first person to be a bit unclear on the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

If you do decide to move to a self hosted blog then it is made as simple as possible and you can find instructions here (please note, the guided transfer is optional, you don’t have to pay for the help unless you think it would be useful, many people find they can manage the export and import process by themselves).

It’s great to hear how passionate you are about your photography and I’m sorry to hear how frustrating it can be! However, please try to see people liking your work so much as a positive thing (I know it’s not always easy!)

There are a few things you might want to consider doing to try to boost the number of people that turn into leads for a photo shoot from your blog:

The first thing I would suggest is to change the “Say Hello!” text in your main navigation button into a stronger call to action, even something as simple as “Contact me” is a little bit more professional and likely to draw more clicks from potential clients. Even better would be something like “Get a free quote” which is much more focused on what you offer. You can always try out a few options and see what works best!

If you have previous clients that you’re still in touch with it’s worth asking them if they could give you a testimonial to put on your site. Hopefully they’ll be happy to give you a positive sentence or two you can use to attract more people to your services. You could perhaps even include a few short details about the shoot in question for each one you receive.

It’s also bit hard to read the details on your “Specials” page, although I love your use of an image slideshow to draw people’s attention, it might be worth thinking about using a font that is a little larger and easier to read.

Have you thought about creating prints of your existing works and offering those for sale? It would be one idea to consider to generate supplemental income on top of your regular shooting and commission rates, especially as you can ship them globally and attract customers who aren’t just from your local area.

Finally, if you are determined to stop people running off with your hard work you may want to consider some more drastic watermarks, more so on your larger photographs, as can be seen on many stock photo websites (check out the previews on istockphoto.com for an example).

I hope this has given you a few ideas on how to make the most of all your hard work!
