WordPress content renewal
-
Hi,
My original website was hosted on WordPress. We are in the process of transferring this over to our new hosting platform Kajabi.
After adding the new DNS records to our domain hosting service, the original content from WordPress has now vanished. We are not able to access this content at all.
Can you please advise if we are able to access this existing data and blog pages? Or has this gone for good?
Thanks

Hi there,
What is the URL of the site in question?
The WordPress.com account you’re using to post here doesn’t own any sites hosted with us, and has never owned any domain upgrades with us.
If you were using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider, then what you describe is expected: when you pointed the DNS to your new host, you essentially disconnected your site still on their servers from its domain. So while the content still exists on the server, that content no longer has an address, so there’s no way to reach it.
Please contact your hosting provider directly for help with this. They might be able to move your site back to a staging domain, help you reconnect your existing domain temporarily until you’ve had time to export your content, or provide you with a full backup of your site that you can then upload at your new host.
But we’re not able to help with this, as your site is not hosted on our servers, so we don’t have access to any of your data from our end.
