Harry when it comes to backlinks raincoaster and I have tried to explain that posting on static pages does NOT result in gaining backlinks. I have published a post on this and I am all in and all done when it comes to painfully typing all that information out time and time again. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/05/12/better-blogging-at-wordpress-com-pages-and-posts/
In a nutshell:
Page structured blogs have a very difficult time:
1. securing traffic;
2. securing comments;
3. securing backlinks;
4. achieving authority in their niche;
5. achieving Google PageRank. -

Creating all those static pages was not the best idea. That’s what raincoaster and I tried to express over and over to you. As the actual content in your blog goes it’s best placed in posts. In posts it may attract backlinks but it’s very rare to get backlinks to static pages.

then do you think i should delete all the pages which will leave the header bar nearly empty or hide them all
you can only get to the pages if you click the header bar

I don’t have time to look to see what you have done. I am saying that all that if what’s on your static pages amounts to an Index of posts in various categories with links to those posts – leave the pages alone – they are fine. If however, there are any static pages that contain insutructional content then that type of content it is better placed in post. :)
Backlinks to your posts are gained when other bloggers choose to link to them in posts of their own. If you are actively reading and posting comments on similar blogs to your own in the same niche then you can bulid relationships with those bloggers. Then when they publish a post on a topic your have covered in onw of your posts they may choose to backlin to it.
Links are the currency of the blogosphere. Either we get the heck out of our own blogs and comment, comment, comment on other related blogs and create relationships with bloggers with similar blogs, or our blogs don’t get many backlinks at all.
Earlier on when your first began blogging you posted a thread and I did some work for you. I researched the top blogs in the same niche your own blog is in and provided you with URLs so you could Link to them in your bologroll and create relationships with those bloggers. Hopefully, you did that.
