WordPress crash after any plugin update

  I currently have 8 different plugin updates available on my WordPress account. Google Analytics Dashboard, iThemes Security, Jetpack, MailPoet 3, Redirection, UpdraftPlus, WPBakery Page Builder and Yoast SEO. Anytime I try to update any of them, I get the normal ‘site under maintenance’ message but then about 5-10 minutes after that I get a ‘site experiencing technical difficulties’ message. I then have to reinstate the site via a file backup and none of the plugins successfully update.
