WordPress Critical Error!

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m very worried about my WordPress website! I have done a lot of work on there for my new company but for the past couple weeks I haven’t been able to get anywhere with it or enter my wordpress account properly as it tells me ‘There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.’

  • Hi there,

What is the address of the site you are referring to?

Please note that these forums are for WordPress.com-hosted sites only. If your site is using the open-source WordPress.org software, we won’t be able to provide direct assistance because we do not have direct access to any site hosted outside of WordPress.com. You’ll want to seek assistance in the dotorg forums:

Thanks for replying! My website is https://www.therldistrkt.com. I can only view my website but cannot make any changes, access my dashboard or editing.

  • Hi there – It looks like that site might be hosted with GoDaddy. In that case, a few quick points to try to help you along with this. :)

    1. Try resetting your password here (to get properly logged in): https://www.therldistrkt.com/wp-admin

See “Lost your password?” below the login fields – click that to reset.

    2. The site you’re working on is not hosted with us here at WordPress.com. It’s using open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

    3. You’ve posted on the forums for WordPress.com support. This means our support tools aren’t designed to directly support your needs. We’ll need to direct you to the WordPress community support forums (at WordPress.org) where you can get more relevant help. https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

It’s a great looking site! We hope you are able to get logged in and get this back on track. Good luck :)
