WordPress Dashboard as referrer

I see ‘WordPress Dashboard’ as a referrer in my stats page. What is that and what gets counted as a reference from that?

This means that someone is visiting your blog from an internal part of WordPress, like their Dashboard if you commented on their blog, or the Reader (Following tab) if they’re subscribed to your blog.

Thanks. Is there any other possibility? There’s no WP user that has subscribed to my blog yet and I have so far commented only on one other WP blog (that too very recently). I’m curious about it because most of my referrals (on the stats page) come from the WordPress Dashboard. Not that I’m complaining :-)

Certainly :) The WordPress Dashboard referrer could also mean that someone visited your site via our search engine or via your tags. Though I’m afraid we can’t provide you with more specific information (i.e. where exactly this click came from), it could be from anywhere within the WordPress site including your comment, our search bar, or Global Tags.
