WordPress Dashboard / Stats: change primary website URL
-
Hi,
I’ve been using WordPress on my own website for a few years now, using the official Stats plugin. For some reason, the stats plugin and -by extension- the WordPress.com keep referring to my site as ‘test.aaronweb.net’, instead of just ‘aaronweb.net’. Bit irky, seeing the former only existed for a few days, years ago.
I’ve come as far as https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs to get to a list of my blogs, but I can’t seem to change it anywhere.
A search doesn’t yield any helpful results, so I’m hoping one of you might help me. Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, I’m still using the old
statsplugin, version 1.8.5. Statistics aside, I have no real need for any of the features JetPack provides, either, so I’d rather not upgrade either.I’m hoping the site url can be changed without installing it?

Hi Aaron,
I’m not seeing a Jetpack connection for your site. What was the URL of your WordPress.org site?
We strongly recommend that you upgrade your Jetpack to the latest version to ensure you’re not susceptible to any bugs or other strangeness, which it sounds like you’re currently experiencing.
Cheers!

Hello,
Apologies for the delay. As you suggested, I have since upgrade to Jetpack.
This did not immediately fix the problem, but apparently the change was communicated to WordPress.com once I temporarily changed my site url to ‘test.aaronweb.net’ and back to just ‘aaronweb.net’.
Cheers for the help!
