wordpress dead slow – can’t connect with daria.be- what’s up
-
I’m finding that clicking on save after editing has become a tooth grindingly slow process here at wordpress.com. And I can’t get into my wordpress powered blogs at daria.be at all. How long is this situation expected to prevail please?
-
EDIT: Now a 500 internal systems error saying give us a shout – SHOUT! on wordpress on this forum.
But I’m into daria.be – weird.

I’m a new user of wordpress and am finding the response time really slow–maybe 30
seconds when you save an edit. Is this standard? Does it go a lot faster if I put
Wordpress on my own URL? I like the software but I can’t survive the speed. -

Is this standard?
No, it was just an occasional glitch. Stuff like that happens on the internet. (Mine was a router being rebooted.)

The forums seem to be very slow. I’m filling out a post, clicking save, changing to another, answer that one, click on save, go back to the first and it still hasn’t been saved.

Everywhere, everything is occurring in slow mode. What this says to me is that sysadmin are going nuts in the background trying to address the problem which is probably connected with new servers coming on line and balancing the load. I will be choosing not to post much by waiting until adjustments are made I won’t be putting myslef in a position of grinding my teeth and requiring expensive dental work.

It’s a good time for fall cleaning. All the internet temp files that pile up on your computer…
Get rid of them, and pages will load faster. After a while, I’d swear that it takes longer to load a page (or parts of it) from my drive than to just load the fresh page.

Earlier I noticed that WordPress was acting like my self-hosted blog @ yahoo (Wouldn’t want it acting like a Yahoo!-hosted blog, now would we, DrMike?) and not returning to the manage or posting page without refreshing my browser.
The one thing I’ve learned from Yahoo! hosting is that the page IS on the server. If you load the page in a new window, even if the posting page still appears to be trying, the post is most likely already onsite. WordPress.com too!
