WordPress Desktop app hasn't worked in months
-
Hi, I haven’t bothered using WordPress because when I want to quickly write up a post, the desktop app doesn’t work.
It was always a bit buggy (various), and I just uninstalled it completely and reinstalled, but it’s the same issue now.
The main issue now is that I get “You need to set
oauth_client_idin your config file.“. There’s no Login, only “Developer Resources” and “Create Account”.Since I haven’t done any developing on this machine (or this account I’m pretty sure), this shouldn’t be an issue.
The “Sign Out” button is disabled.

Hi there,
Please uninstall the app again, and then manually delete the application data folder. On Windows you can find it at
C:Users<username>AppDataRoamingWordPress.com(Windows 10).The application data folder can be hidden on Windows. In that case try entering %appdata% in the Cortana search bar.
Once you’ve deleted that, reinstall the app. Let us know if it still gives you the error.
