WordPress "disappeared" a .com address I am trying to register
-
I am trying to register a .com to my new blog. I tried to do this for an $18 upgrade when I registered the blog name. The .com address is not registered to anyone, and came up as available when I started the process. But wordpress didn’t complete the process for me – didn’t ask me for my cc info or anything. Now, it tells me that the name is already registered. This is only because I “registered” it by typing it in when I started up the blog – and now I can’t seem to get wordpress to register it to me. Can anyone help??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

PS – the name I am trying to register is heydiddledoodles.com, for my new blog of that name (although my umbrella blog is the “howtoeatplants” one listed here).

Someone has flagged this for staff help –
a whois shows that heydiddledoodles.com is available and not registered, so the registration did not go through and you were not charged is another indicator that the registration & mapping was not successful
you could try logging out then back in and see if the registration goes better the second time

Thank you, that’s a good idea. I just tried it – logging out and back in. Still when I try to register the domain though, it comes up with the error “sorry the domain has already been registered”.

Please try to make your purchase again. We were experiencing some glitches in the domain registration process over the weekend, but they have been resolved now.
Let me know if you are still having trouble with this!

Thank you – I tried it again and I’m all set. Looks like the issue was resolved. Thanks!
