WordPress DNS Records

I have lost my site. I cannot get even into my admin.

Last I was there (months ago) it was suddenly empty of my blog content. I was told then (by WordPress support) that it had to do with domain.com (my host server). I have connected with them, and they believe they can fix the problem. They are asking for my WordPress DNS records though, which, of course, I cannot access, since I cannot get into the backend of my WordPress site.

Do you have access to my DNS records? Can you provide me with them? If not, what other course of action can I take?

    Thanks for your help.

I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

  • Hi @pairingwithbeer, can you share the site link?

If it’s pairingwithbeer.com, I can confirm that site hasn’t been hosted with us before. Did you host with domain.com all along? If so they should be aware and see that in their system. If you have a different domain, perhaps one that pointed to, can you share that?

Hi @supernova – thanks for replying.

    Yes, it is for pairingwithbeer.com.

What should domain.com see in their system? My wordpress DNS records?

    Thanks

  • We have no history of that domain ever being hosted here, so it must have been a self-hosted WordPress site, using the software from https://wordpress.org/ hosted elsewhere.

To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

Do you recall who you were paying to host your site? It would have been either a monthly or annual charge.
