WordPress does not change Display Name
-
The title says it all.
I’m about to give up. I’ve changed my display name according to the video tutorial, saved my changes and – nothing happens.
When I write a new post, it still uses my user name.
When I click on the more drastic “Change your user name” option I get a message saying “If you only want to change your display name – which is currently “OLD DISPLAY NAME THAT I’VE BEEN TRYING TO CHANGE”, just do a, b and c. Which is exactly what I did.Can anyone help? I’m despairing here.
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Well you failed to provide both names you refer to above. Please do that now and I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thanks for your reply.
The name that WordPress claims is my current display name is “mild side”, and the name I picked and which is shown in the Display Name field is “cuexin”.
I have no idea why it is shown but isn’t implemented. I keep thinking maybe ththere is another box I have to tick but I can’t find it. -

Do you want to change your username to cuexin but leave your blog called themildside.wordpress.com?
If you want to keep the same username but change what appears when you post comments, you can do this here: https://en.wordpress.com/settings/public-profile/
If you want to actually change your username completely (and permanently), you would do that here:
https://en.wordpress.com/settings/account/ and click on the “change” link next to your username. For more details on both of these processes, see:
