WordPress doesn’t recognize my account

    I have a WordPress account which I created from my hosting site, received an email from WordPress to activate the account which I did, but now when I try to log in I get no account on that user name or email address. Please advise what I might be doing wrong or who I can contact.

    Hi there,

    That account is specific to your stand-alone WordPress site, and can only be used to log into that site’s dashboard.

    You cannot use that account to log in at either WordPress.com or WordPress.org, and likewise you cannot use a WordPress.com or WordPress.org account to log into your site’s dashboard.

    If you’re saying your admin credentials for your site no longer work, please see the password reset instructions for the open source WordPress.org software you’re using here:

    In that case your hosting provider is the best place to get help with this.
