wordpress domain name vs. bluehost domain name

    Hi! When WordPress first offered me the chance to upgrade the free site ‘leperet.wordpress.com’ to ‘leperet.com’ I registered the domain name ‘leperet.com’ with Bluehost and paid for the registration. Perhaps I misunderstood the process. Now I would like to know this: does ‘leperet.com’ belong to Bluehost? Is it still associated with my site here at WordPress? I’m confused and my Bluehost annual subscription is about to expire. Thanks for your attention

    Hello,

    So if I understand you correctly, before you signed up for the paid wordpress service you went ahead and bought your domain seperately with bluehost right?

    If so just FYI WordPress works with bluehost and dream host and they offer the free domain for one year once you pay for the paid wordpress service.

    I went ahead and tagged the staff in this message so they can go ahead and give you better insight.

    Hi @eduardoperet

    The site at leperet.com is a self-hosted WordPress site which is hosted at BlueHost.

    Your leperet.com domain is registered with FastDomain Inc. thru BlueHost and, you’re right, it expires on the 20th of this month.

    So, the domain isn’t connected to your site here at WordPress.com.

    This can all be a little confusing!
