WordPress domain query

  Hi there,

  I would like to use the URL gingianajones.wordpress.com, which I can see is not currently in use. However, when attempting to select an URL I can only choose gingianajones9.wordpress.com or gingianajones0.wordpress.com etc. How do I get the URL without numbers in it?

  Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, the URL you mentioned will not be available to you. When someone registers a username, the blog address that matches the username is reserved exclusively for that person. Therefore, only the person with the matching username “gingianajones” can use that particular address. There is no way to use an address that has been reserved for someone else.

  However, there are countless unused site addresses available, so our policy should not limit your address selection. If your desired .wordpress.com address is not available, you may consider registering a custom domain to use with your website instead, such as example.com (without .wordpress in the name).
