WordPress Domain..problem?
-
I upgraded through wordpress to add a .com domain to my website. When I visit the .com address, it goes to my webpage, but in the address bar, reverts to the *.wordpress.com domain. Why isn’t my .com address in the address bar? Can I change this?
And how do I go about indexing my .com domain? When I google the name of my website, the *.wordpress.com comes up, but I’d like the .com one to as well. Any ideas? Thanks.

If I try to go to http://robertjarosh.wordpress.com/ I am immediately redirected to http://robertjarosh.com/ so everything is working properly. You will not see the new domain name in the dashboard pages. The dashboard will always reflect the original wordpress.com URL, but that side of things doesn’t matter, only the public side of your site.
The domain mapping is a 301 permanent redirect, so that means that the search engines will start to pick that up and over the next 3-6 months everything will transfer over to the new domain name and the old links will drop off of them.

Oh wow. All of the sudden it is working. -_-
Thanks for the reply. And it’s good to know that Google will pick up the change. Thanks again!
