WordPress dropping subscribers without requesting it.

WordPress is dropping subscribers to my daily blog. I just tried to re-subscribe (email visible only to moderators and staff) and got an error on the page that should have opened. Can you help. This is one of several WordPress has dropped without them requesting it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Will you please provide a couple of usernames for those WordPress.com bloggers who did not receive the emails as well as a couple of email addresses for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts? The software will redact ie. HIDE the email addresses so only Staff can see them. After you do that subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

These subscribers to either bookministry.wordpress.com or bookministryorg.wordpress.com blogs were dropped (that I know of)
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
and I think even my personal (email visible only to moderators and staff)

Accounts you can add: (email visible only to moderators and staff) / (email visible only to moderators and staff) / (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Thanks for your help.

Since about 6 weeks ago my subscribers are not receiving an email to tell them I have posted a new piece on my blog. This always used to happen and now it’s not. Please can you tell me how to fix this. Regards,

Dear “timethief” – thanks for your help. I received another complaint today. Perhaps the problem is because of how I’ve created the blog. I send out a daily meditation and have reached the one-year anniversary. Because these meditations are from a publication, I am now going back one by one to the blogs already posted and updating them with a new date to be published in the future. In other words, I published

    April 1

a year ago. A week ago, I updated it and scheduled it to publish today (April 1). Perhaps the WordPress software doesn’t like me doing this? I hope we can get this fixed. Our subscribers are enjoying the convenience and encouragement from this very much appreciated service.

All of the subscribers you mention should be receiving email notifications on new posts.

However, if you modify an existing post, they should not receive a new notification, as that is not considered a new post. (We do this so users don’t get spammed if someone makes a number of changes to a post after it is initially published).

If you want people to receive notifications, you will need to repost your content as a new post.

Thank you Jackie Dana – finally someone with an explanation. I’m not crazy about the policy, but I guess it helps some folks out there. I’ll just copy / trash / create new / and paste to get back on track. I’ve lost my subscribers for a few weeks – but maybe they will get back on track. Thanks again for your understanding of my issue and your ability to communicate what I need to do. Blessings! John Mark
