WordPress Editing help
-
I am looking to understand the difference between two editing layouts… The first site, that is free, I have the ability to completely edit. On the left hand side, is a grey column, with dashboard, seo, media, pages, comments, appearance, etc… this is the only layout Ive ever known. On my new site, I cant see this dark grey look, only a white column, with little to no editing options. Again, theyre both free and both updated. Any thoughts?
Thank you!

Hi, @tmillersports!
To get to your WordPress Admin (dark sidebar) on a WordPress.com site, go to your site admin and click “WP Admin” in the bottom of the white sidebar, or visit yoursite.wordpress.com/wp-admin. This will bring you to the more traditional-looking admin page.
That being said, if you’ve worked with self-hosted sites before rather than WordPress.com sites, there are some differences in capabilities and the editing experience. More on that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
